Thomas Schmitt

Thomas joined the Land Use Change & Climate Group as a postdoctoral researcher in September 2023. His studies at Leiden University College The Hague, Wageningen University, and the University of Bayreuth shaped his interdisciplinary background. He recently finished his PhD on the multiple values of (pre-)Alpine grassland ecosystem services.

Thomas’ research interests are on understanding human-environment relationships, specifically the underlying values and processes that underpin the decision-making of actors shaping land use and the supply of ecosystem services.
