Max Tschol
Maximilian Tschol joined the Land Use Change and Climate Research Group as a Postdoctoral Researcher in September 2023. He holds a Master of Science in Evolutionary Ecology from Lund University (Sweden) and a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Aberdeen (UK). Max’s PhD research investigated the interactions between spatial population dynamics and evolutionary processes to answer fundamental questions about species’ persistence across space.
Currently, he works on further development of the CRAFTY land systems model to identify European locations that have the potential for ecosystem restoration. His research interests are in understanding both the biodiversity and socio-economic consequences of large scale ecological restoration, as well as the social processes that underpin land use decision making.
